Terms of Service

Effective 17 June 2026 · Last updated 12 August 2026
Wordugtong is a word game made by Henyo Games. By playing the Game or using the website at wordugtong.henyo.games you agree to these terms. They're short, plain, and written so a regular person can read them.

1. Acceptance of these terms

"Wordugtong" (the "Game") is operated by Henyo Games ("we," "us," "our"). By downloading, installing, opening, or otherwise using the Game or its website you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please don't use the Game.

2. Eligibility

You may use the Game if you are at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if that is higher. Younger players should have a parent or guardian's permission and review of our Privacy Policy. The Game is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. Apple and Google set their own age rating for the store listing, and that rating can be higher than 13; it decides who the store lets download the Game, but the rule above is ours.

Paying is not the same as playing. Playing is free at 13. Buying the Wordugtong Plus subscription (section 12) is a purchase, and in the Philippines a person under 18 generally can't enter into a contract on their own. So if you are under 18 you may subscribe only with the permission of the adult who owns the Apple Account or Google Account that will be charged. If a child subscribed without that permission, the account owner can ask Apple or Google for a refund using the links in section 12.

3. Your license to use the Game

We grant you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Game for your own non-commercial entertainment, on devices you own or control. You may not:

4. Fair play

Wordugtong has scoreboards, daily challenges, and 2-player matches. To keep these fun for everyone you agree not to:

We may remove scores, reset accounts, change usernames, or block a player or IP address that violates these rules, with or without notice. Repeat or serious offenses can result in permanent removal.

5. Usernames and content

The Game generates a random username for you. You can pick a different one, but it must follow the fair-play rules above. We may change a username that is offensive, impersonates a real person, or violates someone's trademark.

Aside from your username and submitted scores, the Game does not host user-generated content.

6. Intellectual property

The Game, including its code, art, word lists, dictionaries, layouts, name, logos, and tagline ("Salita. Isip. Dugtong."), is owned by Henyo Games and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. These Terms do not transfer any rights to you other than the limited license in section 3.

Some Filipino-language words and definitions used in the Game are taken from public sources and traditional usage; we credit those sources in the in-game dictionary where applicable.

7. Third-party services

The Game is published on the App Store and Google Play, and those platforms have their own terms that apply to your download and use of the Game and to anything you buy inside it. We do not control how Apple or Google handle the install or the payment.

8. Disclaimers

The Game is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't warrant that the Game will be uninterrupted, error-free, virus-free, or that any specific result (a score, a leaderboard rank, a daily-board solution) will be available. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Henyo Games will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Game, including lost scores, lost streaks, lost data, or device issues. Our total liability for any direct damages will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you were charged for Wordugtong Plus in the 12 months before the claim or (b) ten US dollars ($10).

This section applies only as far as the law allows. It does not limit our liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and it does not remove any right you have under consumer law that cannot be signed away, including the Philippine laws listed in section 12. If part of this section can't be enforced where you live, the rest still applies.

10. Termination

You can stop using the Game at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your access to the Game if you break these Terms or if we discontinue the service. Sections 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, and 13 survive termination.

Uninstalling the Game does not cancel a Wordugtong Plus subscription. Billing lives in your store account, so cancel it there as well. See section 12.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be resolved by good-faith discussion will be submitted to the courts of Metro Manila, Philippines.

That choice can't take away protection you already have as a consumer. If you live in the Philippines, you keep every right in section 12 and you may bring a complaint to the Department of Trade and Industry instead of going to court. If you live somewhere else, the mandatory consumer laws of your own country still apply to you, and you can still bring a claim in your local courts where that law gives you the right to.

12. Paid subscription — Wordugtong Plus

The Game is free. Wordugtong Plus is one optional subscription that removes the ads. You never need it to play, and nothing in the Game is locked behind it. This section explains what you get, what it costs, and how to stop paying.

What it includes

Wordugtong Plus switches off the banner ads and the interstitial ads between rounds. That is all of it.

It gives you no gameplay advantage of any kind. Scoring, timers, word lists, dictionaries, daily boards, 2-player matches, and leaderboards work exactly the same whether you subscribe or not. Subscribers and non-subscribers play the same boards and sit on the same leaderboards on the same terms. You are paying for quiet, not for points, and the Game stays free for everyone.

Price and billing period

Wordugtong Plus is billed monthly. In the Philippines it is PHP 99 a month. Everywhere else it is US$1.99 a month, or whatever Apple or Google charges as the local equivalent. The Philippine price is a deliberate discount for players at home. It works out lower than US$1.99, so it is not a currency conversion of the international price.

The price shown on the App Store or Google Play screen before you tap Confirm is the price that applies to you. Prices differ from country to country because of local taxes and store pricing tiers, and they can change. If the price of a running subscription goes up, Apple and Google will tell you in advance and, where their rules require it, ask you to agree before charging the new price. You can cancel before an increase takes effect.

Payment

You buy Wordugtong Plus inside the Game, through Apple's or Google's own payment system. Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Account when you confirm the purchase, and again at every renewal.

Apple or Google, not Henyo Games, is the merchant of record for the sale: they take the money, issue your receipt, and handle the tax. Henyo Games never sees your card, e-wallet, or bank details. All we receive is an anonymous purchase ID telling the Game that this device has an active subscription. The Game has no accounts and no logins, which is why Restore Purchases matters later in this section.

Automatic renewal

Wordugtong Plus renews automatically. It renews for another month at the end of each monthly period, and your Apple Account or Google Account is charged again, unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancel inside that last 24 hours and the store has usually started the renewal already, so the cancellation takes effect from the following month instead.

Canceling never cuts short what you've already paid for. Your subscription keeps running to the end of that period, then stops. Canceling on its own does not produce a refund. For that, see below.

How to cancel

You cancel in your store account, not in the Game, and not by emailing us. Deleting the app does not cancel anything.

The Game's Profile screen has a shortcut that opens the right page in your store account, so you don't have to go hunting for it.

Refunds

Apple and Google took the payment, so they handle refunds too. Henyo Games cannot reverse an App Store charge. Only Apple can do that. On Google Play we can ask Google to refund an order in some cases, but the decision and the money are Google's.

If you're asking for a refund because something in the Game is broken, email developer@henyo.games first. We may be able to fix it, and we can back up your request to the store.

It follows your store account, not your device

Wordugtong Plus belongs to the Apple Account or Google Account that paid for it. It is not tied to a particular phone, and not to your Wordugtong username.

If we stop offering Wordugtong Plus

We may stop selling Wordugtong Plus or change what it covers. If we stop selling it, anyone already subscribed keeps it until the end of the period they have paid for. It simply stops renewing after that. If we ever take away something you are already paying for mid-period, tell us at developer@henyo.games and we'll help you get that period refunded by the store.

Your rights as a Philippine consumer

Nothing in these Terms removes a right you have under Philippine law that can't be waived, in particular the Consumer Act of the Philippines (RA 7394) and the Internet Transactions Act of 2023 (RA 11967). Where anything here conflicts with those laws, the law wins on that point and the rest of these Terms still stand. You can also raise a consumer complaint with the Department of Trade and Industry.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where reasonable, post a notice in the Game or on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.

12 August 2026: added section 12 for the Wordugtong Plus subscription, spelled out that under-18s need the store account owner's permission to subscribe, and made clear that our disclaimers, liability cap, and choice of court do not override Philippine consumer law.
